Amy at My Friend Amy tagged me for this thought-provoking meme. I had to take a few days to think about this one because it's about a subject matter that's very near and dear to my heart -- blogging!
Here's the idea:
Write about 5 specific ways blogging has affected you, either positively or negatively.
1) I've "met" so many wonderful people who blog and read blogs. I am just thrilled that there are people who have the same passion for books that I do. Most of my friends think I'm absolutely crazy to read so much and obsess over books, but I've found that I'm not alone in my madness!
2) I've found tons of books that I want to read -- many that I would not have heard of if not for book bloggers. Depending on the day, this is either a positive or negative effect of reading book blogs. I guess that's why my TBR pile is almost as tall as I am.
3) Free books!!! I love this part of blogging. I have won so many terrific books from many different bloggers. In addition, I have gained many contacts in the book publishing industry and have received loads of new releases from them.
4) Pressure!!! I'm a pretty intense person (Type A++++), and I've found that blogging has brought out the worst in me. I have established self-imposed deadlines that drive me and my family crazy. For some reason, I feel obligated to blog everyday; and I try to do five reviews a week. I can't say no to review requests; and as a result, I have set crazy reading and reviewing goals. I know it's supposed to be fun, but....
5) I spend way too much time on my computer. When I'm not working on my blog, I'm checking e-mails or catching up on Google Reader. I spend hours a day "working" on the computer. Thank goodness my computer is at a desk in the kitchen, so I'm still kind of with my family.
I'm not going to tag anyone with this one, but I'd love to hear how blogging has changed your life. If you decide to play along, please leave a comment with a link to your post!

My computer is a laptop I set in my kitchen too or my family would be lost. Blogging can get overwhelming. By the way, I was sad you weren't on the short lists for awards because you deserved to be on several of them and win!
I totally agree with all of the ways in which blogging has changed your life. I am in the same boat. I am online way more than I expected to be and I totally have a type A personality and give myself even more blogging work! But boy is it fun!
Very nice of you to share your thoughts on what blogging means to you, and I have to say your blog is very nice. I myself do not blog, mainly because I just dont have all that much to say or talk about, otherwise I would! So instead I just read blogs and be super jealous of how nice everyones are :)
