Joining intimate interviews with original diary entries, The Red Leather Diary re-creates the romance and promise of a remarkable era and brings to life the true story of a daring, precocious young dreamer. -- Harper Perennial

Oh, I hate to be first, but I really want to read this book, because it sounds so fascinating. I love to read diaries and memoirs - I guess I'm nosy. milou2ster(at)gmail.com

Thank you!!
I'm so glad you are giving this away. I think it would be interesting to read because it is so personal. As a student, I loved Diary of Anne Frank for that very reason. I learned so much about the character.

I hadn't heard of the book either, but it sounds terrific. I'd love to read it. gd830(at)hotmail.com
I would love to read this book because I am an author myself and a research nut and stories like this fascinate me - especially the story behind the book. Love it!

This sounds like a fascinating book. I've always enjoyed books that are written in the style of diaries/memoirs. Sounds like I'd enjoy this one.

Thanks for another great giveaway. I'd love to read this one - I love epistilary novels. So few books are written as letters or diaries.
I heard about this book on another book blog and was surprised at how disappointed I was not to win the drawing. Apparently I wanted to read this book far more than I realized. I find it enchanting to be able to read the memoirs of a young woman during the 1920's-30's, more so that in her 90's she was reunited with the diary.
Thanks for entering me in this drawing. If I don't win this one, I'm going to have to break down and actually buy the book. Indigo

I heard about this book the other day, actually, and am super interested in reading it! I love the idea of finding an old journal. Very gothic-romantic.
I'd love to read this because I really enjoy learning more about 1920s America. I blame The Great Gatsby. utgal2004[at]yahoo[dot]com
First of all, this one sounds really good but the real reason I want to read it is because I am nosy and it's a way to be nosy with permission. LOL.

bridget3420(at)yahoo(dot)com
The concept of this book which pairs the early life of the writer with her later life is very appealing to me. I'd also like reading her descriptions of life in the 20's and 30's. And I love diaries!
judy(dot)greenberg(at)gmail(dot)com
I am interested in the 20s and 30s time period. OK, I'm obsessed with that time period. I can't find out enough about it. This book would feed my obsession nicely.

Memoirs are often great reads, it's interesting to see what other people have experienced in life. I like the idea of combining the journal and interviews with the much older journal author.
I love to read diaries/memoirs and this book has been on my wishlist for awhile now..would love to win a copy!!

Please enter me in the drawing. This looks like a great read. How often do you get to see into someone's head and read their inner most thoughts? I find all that truly interesting and especially from a time i know nothing about.
florida982002[at]yahoo[dot]com
this sounds like a memoir with a twist...a diary found in the dumpster...fantastic. I would love to see what is going on in this diary owner's head!
I once lost a journal and later obsessed about who might find it and what they would think. Luckily, it didn't have my name in it! ;) The idea of 'found' history is so cool.

Christina - xristya@rock.com - The title of this book is very interesting (which is why I'd want to read it), since I do believe that one can reclaim one's life through writing - I've been doing it my ENTIRE life, being a poet/artist/writer - and finding a lost journal can only remind you that you've LIVED - at least that's my guess about the book!
I want to read it because it seems like a good and interesting book.

I'd like to read this because I love to read other people's lives.
nhertel85 AT yahoo DOT com
I'd truly enjoy this book for a number of reasons. First of all is the fact that my entire life, I've thought that a dream job would be going through people's attics before estate sales or if they no longer wanted the contents for whatever reason.
The main reason for that is because I would love finding old pictures, mementoes, and especially things like journals and diaries.
In its own way, this book would be almost like getting to do that for a little while. :-)
Ooops, forgot to add my email in the first comment. 4mywinz [at] gmail [dot] com.
