I hope this is open to those of us that don't have a favorite Heyer moment because we haven't read any of her books.
ReplyDeleteShe's been on my list for years, I just never got around to acquiring any of her books. The promotion might be the motivation that I need :-).
Georgette Heyer is in a league by herself. She is, quite simply, a "Queen". I first entered her world almost forty years ago as a young preteen girl dazzled by her flair for romance. After all these years, I am still captivated by her wit and romantic style! gcwhiskas at aol dot com
ReplyDeleteI have never read one of her books but would love to have a favorite Heyer moment.

Favorite Heyer moment? Let's just say it's opening up the box full of Georgette Heyer paperbacks I inherited from my mom, picking out one and settling down to read - a double trip back in time, to the world of her books and remembering reading them the first time way-too-many years ago as a teenager.
ReplyDeleteA favorite Heyer moment would be
ReplyDeleteopening up a book of hers for the
first time. I've not had the
pleasure of reding any of her books. so I really hope to win one.
Thanks.

it has been about 30 or 40 years since i last read one of her books...i think it was on the regency books. the only thing i can remember is that i liked her and don't know why i stopped reading her. how sad is that.

I remember being introduced to a Heyer book from my mom! I used to visit her room each night and she would show me the romance books she had on her shelf and which ones she had read and loved. She read alot of series books, but too just about anything! I remember I read a couple of Heyers but I didn't read more of them til Source book re-released them and I realized how much I missed! I was trying to figure out which two books I read already so that I could re-read them in my mom's memory. I'm not good at remembering tho, so I went with BLACK SHEEP. I can't explain the feeling it was, the goosebumps and joy I got reading that one! I then remembered that I got that 'feel' when I read Georgette Heyers two books and got that with BLACK SHEEP! So far I've bought about 5 of the re-releases from Sourcebooks and so many more I still want to get! I too love that they have the Jane Austen related books! So for me, that moment is the joyful comfort when reading them!
