Did you know that October is Adopt-a-Dog Month? I honestly had no idea, but I still don't think we could manage a new addition to our household given Booking Son's allergies. Since our home will always be a dog-free zone, the next best thing to owning an adorable puppy (or dog) is reading books about one. And Hachette Book Group has some fantastic books out there for the dog-lover in all of us. Check out these great titles:
KATIE UP AND DOWN THE HALL by Glenn Plaskin
OOGY by Larry Levin
GOD and DOG by Wendy Francisco
DOG TAGS by David Rosenfelt
HOW TO BE YOUR DOG'S BEST FRIEND by The Monks of New Skete
Thanks to the fine folks at Hachette, I have one set of these dog-themed books to share with one lucky reader. To enter, just fill out the form below. I will be accepting entries until October 14th at 11:59 p.m. ET, and I will notify the winner the following day. Open to US and Canada mailing addresses only - no p.o. boxes. Good luck!
What a beautiful set of books. At the moment, this is a cat household, with the hopes of getting a little dog in the future. Please enter my name in the giveaway for the book. Thanks!

The set sounds gorgeous but don't count me in as I am overseas!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the wonderful giveaway. I am in the US.

Much better to adopt some books than a real dog. As I said at Win a Book, books eat less.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the e-mail, darling! As I said, I've got this posted at Win a Book for you.
What a cool giveaway! I didn't know it was adopt a dog month either. We definitely can't get another dog but I will encourage others to.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic giveaway. October is a big birthday month for my family. We are all BIG pet lovers and have many. My husband and I both turned another year older yesterday...yep, can you imagine having to share your birthday with your husband? That just begins the birthdays for the month. With 8 grown children, 18 grandchildren and 11 (one newborn last week) great-grandchildren...these books would be enjoyed by crowds. Thank you for this giveaway and the chance to win such a generous gift. I hope I do win!

This is such a great cause! Before moving to D.C. in August, I was a regular volunteer with Paws4You, a dog rescue in Miami, for 3 years helping to foster, rehabilitate, and get shelter dogs adopted. There are so many amazing dogs out there that just need a bit of time and patience and they become wonderful pets.
ReplyDeleteAnother great dog-centered book you'd like "The Art of Racing in the Rain" by Garth Stein, which is narrated by the protagonists dog. Talk about a different view of the world!
I'd love to be entered in the giveaway for these books...please toss my name in the hat. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI've been wanting to read "Oogy" for sometime. They all look good.
Blessings,
