Mother's Day is just a few days away and if you are still looking for that perfect gift, I think I can help! Of course, books make wonderful gifts for mothers; and A LETTER TO MY MOM, created by Lisa Erspamer, is a beautiful tribute to all the special things mothers do!

A LETTER TO MY MOM is a collection of personal letters from people all over the world paying tribute to their mothers. These letters express thanks for special memories, life lessons, and even unique experiences. I'm certain you will recognize some of the celebrities featured in A LETTER TO MY MOM. Contributors include Melissa Rivers, Josh Groan, will.i.am, Cat Cora, Dr. Phil, and Kelly Osbourne to name just a few.

I loved this book and I do think it's a wonderful gift idea for Mother's Day. It's probably no surprise that these letters evoked a wide variety of emotions in me. Many touched me, but some also made me laugh. No matter what, all of the letters showcased the amazing bond between a mother and her child. You can read some excerpts from a few of the contributors' letters here.

I actually found all of these letters to be special and heartwarming, but a few really stood out. One in particular was the letter from Lisa Hirsch which was written to her mother suffering from Alzheimer's Disease. This just broke me heart:

So much has changed since you developed Alzheimer's ten years ago. As I gather my thoughts I realize that you will not be able to comprehend most of what I say.

If that's not a wakeup call to tell out loved ones how special they are, I don't know what is!

And this particular part of the letter from Kelly Osbourne to her mom Sharon made me smile:

P.S. You are still bloody nuts and at times drive me insane... but I would not have you any other way. To me you are perfect!

Another thing I appreciated about A LETTER TO MY MOM was the inclusion of so many photographs. For some reason, I thought these pictures really enhanced the reading experience. Just being able to visualize these contributors with their mothers really made things real for me and brought home the special relationships they shared.

A LETTER TO MY MOM is a wonderful tribute to all types of mothers and is the perfect gift for Mother's Day!
